Three-Tec ZE5 micro extruder — 5 mm co-rotating twin-screw with Siemens touchscreen control panel

01 / 04OVERVIEW

The ZE5 is a 5 mm co-rotating twin-screw extruder engineered for pharmaceutical, polymer, and specialty-chemical R&D at gram scale. Process batches from 1 gram with an empty volume of 1.2 cm³ at L/D 15:1. Tri-clamp barrel segments allow rapid disassembly for cleaning validation. The modular barrel accepts L/D ratios from 15:1 to 40:1 with segmented temperature zones, each independently controlled via Siemens PLC. All product-contact surfaces are 316L stainless steel polished to Ra 0.8 µm. An optional high-temperature configuration extends the operating range to 400 °C for PEEK and other high-performance polymers.
