The 18 mm High-Containment System encloses the entire process chain — gravimetric dosing, twin-screw extrusion, conveyor cooling, and strand granulation — inside an ISO 14644-7 compliant glove-box housing. Operators handle material through integrated glove ports; all drives sit external to the enclosure to eliminate particulate contamination from mechanical components. Every product-contact surface is 316L stainless steel (1.4404). The system processes potent compounds, cytotoxic APIs, and controlled substances that would otherwise require dedicated clean-room suites, reducing facility investment while maintaining containment integrity. Siemens PLC orchestrates the full line from a single HMI.
